Ruvel stood beside me in silence as he studied my brothers painting. His presence felt unreal, but I could hear a heartbeat.
“Before I die….I want to paint something; like my brother did.”
Ruvel turned to look at me, but his cloak was covering his eyes.
“Something like this?” He pointed to a painting of a flamingo.
“What? No.” I frowned at Ruvel, who remained stiff.
He lifted his black cloak revealing his extraordinary face underneath.
My jaw dropped at how beautiful his face was; I must have been doing it for awhile because Ruvel poked my forehead.
“Ow!” I squealed; he just chuckled.
“Let’s go now.” He smiled.
